Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: c. £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
Reporting to: Legal Counsel
Department: Legal

About ILS

At Intelligent Legal Solutions (ILS), we're transforming how fund formation legal work gets done. Our flagship product, ProVision, is a legal tech SaaS platform that automates fund formation workflows for law firms and fund managers.

We're still early, but we have clear product–market fit, a deep understanding of our buyers and an ambitious roadmap. We operate at the intersection of law, private investment funds and workflow automation, and we're building the go-to platform for fund formation teams globally.

This is a rare opportunity to join a lean, high-calibre team that is seeing significant traction in the marketplace. The bar is high, the work is hands-on, and the impact on the company's growth, brand and revenue will be direct and visible.

We move fast, take ownership and stay close to our customers. We value clear thinking and simplicity over complexity. If you want to do the best work of your career in legal tech, we'd love to build with you.

The Role

We're looking for a Paralegal to support our in-house legal team on customer contracts, compliance and corporate housekeeping.

This is a hands-on role, working closely with our Legal Counsel, the founders, HR and the commercial team.

You'll have the opportunity to gain broad in-house experience at a growing legal tech business and to help build our legal processes as we scale.

As ILS continues to grow, the role is likely to develop too, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, bringing ideas and getting involved.

What You'll Be Doing
Contract support
  • Prepare first drafts of NDAs, data processing agreements and order forms from our templates.
  • Track the status of contracts in negotiation, along with renewal and notice dates.
  • Manage the signature process and file executed agreements.
Compliance and governance
  • Maintain statutory registers and prepare Companies House filings.
  • Support data protection compliance and responses to customers' information security questionnaires.
  • Keep company policies up to date.
Legal operations
  • Organise and maintain our contract repository.
  • Support HR with employment documentation.
  • Carry out legal research when needed.
Working with the wider team
  • Work closely with Legal, the founders, HR and the commercial team.
  • Share ideas and contribute to wider company priorities.
  • Help improve processes and ways of working as the business grows.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is precise, organised and discreet, and comfortable working in a growing business where things are still being built.

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 1 to 2 years’ experience as a paralegal, in-house or in a commercial or corporate team at a law firm.
  • A law degree, or progress towards the LPC or SQE.
  • Close attention to detail when drafting and checking documents.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage several matters at once.
  • Comfort working with technology and learning new systems.
  • Discretion with confidential information.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience at a technology or SaaS business.
  • Experience with data protection compliance.
  • Experience with contract management or e-signature tools.
  • Exposure to fund formation work.

You don't need to tick every box. If you have strong experience that you think is relevant to the role and it sounds like something you'd enjoy, we'd still like to hear from you.

What We Offer

We want people to do great work without losing sight of life outside of work.

For this role, our package includes:

  • c. £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 25 days' annual leave, plus UK bank holidays.
  • Bupa private medical and dental cover following successful completion of probation.
  • Company pension through NEST, including employer contributions.
  • A flexible, hybrid working environment.
  • The opportunity to have a visible impact in a growing legal tech business.
  • A collaborative team with direct access to senior leadership and founders.
  • Plenty of opportunity to grow your role and responsibilities as ILS scales.

Benefits are subject to the applicable scheme rules and company policies and may be amended from time to time.

What the Interview Process Looks Like

We want the recruitment process to be straightforward and give you a good opportunity to get to know us too.

  • Introductory call — A short conversation with the People team to talk through your experience, what you're looking for and the role.
  • Hiring Manager interview — A conversation with our Legal Counsel to explore your experience, approach to the role and how you work.
  • Practical exercise — A short drafting and document review task. This shows us your attention to detail and how you approach a typical piece of work.
  • Final conversation — A final conversation with relevant members of the ILS team and founders, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and get a better feel for the team, culture and direction of the business.

We'll keep you updated throughout the process and aim to give you clarity on next steps after each stage.

If you need a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know. We'll be happy to discuss what support you need.

A Little More About ILS

We're still growing, which means things can move quickly and not everything will always be perfectly defined.

We value people who take ownership, communicate clearly, ask questions and are willing to get involved. We care about doing good work, but we also believe in keeping things simple and practical.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with people across the business and see the impact of your work directly.

Equal Opportunities

ILS is committed to providing an inclusive and fair recruitment process. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and make employment decisions based on skills, experience and suitability for the role.

We do not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. We are also committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process where required. Requests can be made by emailing hr@intelligentlegalsolutions.com .

If this sounds like the kind of role you'd enjoy, we'd love to hear from you.
