BAE Systems is seeking a Paralegal to join their Maritime and Land Defence Solutions Legal Team in Portsmouth. This role involves drafting contracts, conducting legal research, and providing advice on contractual matters. Salary: up to 37,630 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
•Drafting/reviewing/revising/proofreading a wide variety of contracts and supporting contract negotiations, with the supervision of the solicitors in the team.
•Assisting in the implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance
•Developing, updating, and maintaining contract templates, forms, and guidelines
•Drafting and updating training materials and supporting the delivery of training on several topics
•Conducting legal research and communicating the output of the research to other members of the Legal team and business stakeholders
•Providing written and verbal advice to Commercial and Supply Chain teams on contractual and legal matters
•Managing miscellaneous administrative tasks for the Legal team and assisting with administration of existing contracts
Your skills and experiences:
•Currently holds an English Law Qualification – Law Degree, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or CILEX qualification
•Significant paralegal or commercial contracting experience which demonstrates sound knowledge of contractual law

Maritime and Land Defence Solutions Legal Team:
You will be joining a team of experienced Solicitors supporting on Bids, Contracts, Compliance and Governance in a dynamic and varied role. You will be collaborating closely with other members of the Maritime & Land Defence Solutions Legal team and alongside senior stakeholders within the wider organisation both within the business and at Group level, often on complex work streams. You will also have to build a network of professional relationships with the key stakeholders and your direct team. The business develops and provides a wide range of products and services including radar, autonomous systems, ship support and munitions to UK and overseas customers.
