Job summary

UNICAT Technologies in Huddersfield is seeking an experienced Panel Wirer to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on assembling, wiring and modifying electrical control panels within a structured production environment.

You will ensure panels meet high standards of quality, safety and accuracy while following electrical drawings and industry standards. The successful candidate will work Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 08:00–13:00, earning £16.87 per hour for 37 hours per week,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cutting, stripping and crimping wires with identification markers.
• Populate terminal rails and fit identification markers.
• Drill backplates using hand tools.
• Prepare and mount cable trunking.
• Fit electrical components to backplates.
• Wiring contactors, relays, MCBs, inverter drives and PLCs to schematics.
• Fit cable glands and labels.
• Strip and reassemble Rittal enclosures after painting.
• Maintain workmanship and adhere to health and safety procedures.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you'll be responsible for assembling, wiring and modifying electrical control panels and switchgear systems in line with electrical drawings, specifications and industry standards.

You'll play an important role in ensuring every panel is built to the highest standards of quality, accuracy and safety.

Your Responsibilities

• Cutting, stripping and crimping wires, including identification using heat shrink markers.
• Populating terminal rails and fitting identification markers.
• Drilling backplates using hand drills.
• Preparing and mounting cable trunking.
• Fitting electrical components to backplates.
• Wiring contactors, relays, MCBs, inverter drives, PLCs and other components to schematic drawings.
• Fitting cable glands and screw-down labels.
• Stripping down Rittal enclosures for painting and rebuilding them afterwards.
• Maintaining excellent workmanship and adhering to health and safety procedures.
