Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Panel Beater or Panel Technician in an accident repair centre.
• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Accident Repair Body (NVQ/IMI/SVQ/VRQ/ATA or equivalent).
• Competent MIG/MAG and spot welding skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess accident damage and decide on effective repair methods.
• Repair damaged panels using traditional panel beating and modern techniques.
• Remove, replace and align bolt-on and welded panels; perform MIG/MAG and spot welding.
• Prepare repaired areas to high standards for the paint shop.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods and health and safety procedures.
• Work with MET Technicians, Painters and Workshop Controller to keep repairs on schedule.

THE ROLE

As a Panel Beater / Panel Technician, you will carry out accident damage panel repairs, returning vehicles to their pre-accident condition using manufacturer-approved methods and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing accident damage and deciding on the most effective repair method.
• Repairing damaged panels using traditional panel beating and modern repair techniques.
• Removing, replacing and aligning bolt-on and welded panels.
• Carrying out MIG/MAG and spot welding where required.
• Preparing repaired areas to a high standard ready for the paint shop.
• Following manufacturer repair methods and health and safety procedures.
• Working with MET Technicians, Painters and the Workshop Controller to keep repairs on schedule.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience as a Panel Beater or Panel Technician within an accident repair centre or Bodyshop.
• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Accident Repair Body (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent).
• Competent welding skills, including MIG/MAG and spot welding.
• Good understanding of manufacturer repair methods and safe working practices.
• Able to work accurately and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• A reliable, organised approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
