Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a skilled Panel Beater/Panel Technician in Slough to perform accident damage repairs to pre-accident condition using manufacturer-approved methods. The role offers a 7:00am–4:30pm schedule, Monday to Friday, with potential bonus on top of the basic salary.

Ideal candidates have NVQ/IMI/SVQ/VRQ/ATA or equivalent and experience in accident repair centres, plus MIG/MAG welding skills and strong workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accident repair centre or bodyshop.
• Apprenticeship or Level 3 in Vehicle Accident Repair Body.
• Welding skills: MIG/MAG and spot welding.
• Knowledge of manufacturer repair methods and safety procedures.
• Ability to work accurately and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assessing accident damage and deciding on the most effective repair method.
• Repairing damaged panels using traditional panel beating and modern repair techniques.
• Removing, replacing and aligning bolt-on and welded panels.
• Carrying out MIG/MAG and spot welding where required.
• Preparing repaired areas to a high standard ready for the paint shop.
• Following manufacturer repair methods and health and safety procedures.
• Working with MET Technicians, Painters and the Workshop Controller to keep repairs on schedule.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail.

PANEL BEATER / PANEL TECHNICIAN

Location: Slough

Salary: £50,000 Basic Salary + Bonus

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm

Are you a skilled Panel Beater who wants an early finish and your weekends to yourself? This permanent role in Slough runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm, so you are done for the day by mid-afternoon with time left for life outside the Bodyshop.

THE ROLE

As a Panel Beater / Panel Technician, you will carry out accident damage panel repairs, returning vehicles to their pre-accident condition using manufacturer-approved methods and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing accident damage and deciding on the most effective repair method.
• Repairing damaged panels using traditional panel beating and modern repair techniques.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience as a Panel Beater or Panel Technician within an accident repair centre or Bodyshop.
• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Accident Repair Body (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / VRQ / ATA or equivalent).
• Competent welding skills, including MIG/MAG and spot welding.
• Good understanding of manufacturer repair methods and safe working practices.
• Able to work accurately and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• A reliable, organised approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
