Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a Panel Beater / Panel Technician in Stockport to repair damaged vehicle bodywork and replace panels. The role is full-time and permanent with a basic salary of £40,000 - £45,000, plus OTE £50,000+, depending on experience.

The position offers a 40-hour week, Monday-Friday, with flexible start times between 7:00am and 6:00pm. Right to Work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA).
• Experience as Panel Beater, Panel Technician or Vehicle Body Repair Technician.
• Experience repairing panels and replacing body components.
• Ability to use body repair tools and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Repair damaged vehicle bodywork and replace panels or components as needed.
• Work accurately and follow repair procedures to meet quality standards.
• Assess damage and identify required repairs.
• Repair, reshape and replace damaged body panels.
• Remove and refit components to complete repairs.
• Ensure panel alignment and finish meet standards.

THE ROLE

As a Panel Beater / Panel Technician, you'll be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle bodywork and replacing panels or components where required. You'll need to work accurately, follow appropriate repair procedures and ensure completed repairs meet the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing vehicle damage and identifying the repairs required.
• Repairing, reshaping and replacing damaged body panels.
• Removing and refitting components as necessary to complete repairs.
• Using appropriate tools and equipment to carry out vehicle body repairs.
• Ensuring panel alignment, fit and finish meet the required standards.
• Completing repairs efficiently without compromising workmanship.
• Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.

ABOUT YOU

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with an ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.
• Previous experience working as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician or Vehicle Body Repair Technician.
• Confident repairing damaged panels and replacing body components.
• Able to use body repair tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs.
• Able to manage workload efficiently while maintaining repair standards.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
