Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Glossop, Derbyshire, is seeking a maintenance technician to install, service and repair equipment across a heavy engineering environment. The role supports the operations team to meet targets while upholding health and safety standards.

The position operates on the PANAMA shift pattern (24/7, 12-hour shifts, days/nights on a 4-week rotation) with shift allowance. A strong background in mechanical maintenance and fault finding is essential.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified to C&G/NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering.
• Completed a recognised Apprenticeship.
• GCSEs – A-C, including English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the development of PPM systems and the forward scheduling of maintenance activities.
• Operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
• Fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance in a steel work / heavy engineering environment.
• Hydraulics/Pneumatic/Cooling Systems.
• Planning and scheduling planned and unplanned work.
• Liaise with client departments.
• Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
• Monitor maintenance costs.
• Improve production facilities.
