Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Glossop is seeking a skilled maintenance engineer to install, maintain, test and repair equipment used in our heavy manufacturing environment. You will support the operations team to achieve targets while upholding health and safety standards.

The role requires a mechanical engineering apprenticeship or NVQ level 3, GCSEs, and experience with hydraulic/pneumatic/cooling systems. The Panama shift pattern and on-site location shape the working conditions and benefits.

Qualifications

Ideally qualified to C&G/NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering.
Completed a recognised Apprenticeship.
GCSEs – A-C, including English and Maths.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the development of PPM systems and forward scheduling of maintenance activities.
Operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
Fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance in a steel work / heavy engineering environment.
Hydraulics/Pneumatic/Cooling Systems.
Planning and scheduling planned and unplanned work.
Liaise with client departments.
Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
Monitor maintenance costs.
Improve production facilities.
