Job summary

St Clare Hospice is seeking an experienced Practice Development Nurse to shape education, professional development and clinical practice across the hospice. You will work with clinical leaders to develop a skilled, confident workforce delivering high-quality palliative and end-of-life care.

You will coordinate education initiatives, competency frameworks and mandatory training, ensuring staff attain required standards and reflect best practice across services and partners.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
• Recognised teaching, assessing, mentorship or Practice Assessor qualification.
• Postgraduate qualification or accredited study in palliative and end-of-life care (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate competency assessments and sign-off for staff.
• Develop and maintain competency frameworks and learning passports.
• Lead and evaluate statutory and mandatory training delivery.
• Support induction, preceptorship and CPD for clinical staff.
• Coordinate education programmes for students and external learners.
• Deliver education across hospice services and external partners.
• Promote evidence-based practice and reflective learning.
• Ensure training records and compliance reports are up to date.
• Line manage the Education Administrator and oversee governance of education processes.
