Job summary

Overgate Hospice in Elland is seeking a medically qualified doctor to provide inpatient care alongside a multi-professional team and to contribute to Day Hospice input with strong independent decision-making. You will support primary care teams and other professionals.

The role also involves advising junior colleagues, participating in non-resident on-call duties, maintaining medical records, and contributing to audit, research, and service development within a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• GMC registration and licence to practise confirmed.
• Completed Foundation Year 1 and 2.
• Previous NHS doctor employment.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to inpatients at Overgate Hospice with a multi-professional team.
• Provide medical input to Day Hospice patients with independent decision-making.
• Support primary care teams and other professionals.
• Support and advise junior medical colleagues and students.
• Participate in the non-resident on-call rota.
• Maintain and administer medical records per Hospice policy.
• Ensure confidentiality of information at work and off-site.
• Be involved in audit, research and service development.
• Participate in multi-professional discussions and meetings.
