Job summary

Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate is seeking a dedicated Doctor to provide essential out-of-hours medical support for patients and staff. This bank contract role supports the delivery of our specialist palliative care service and involves non-resident night shifts and weekend coverage.

You will assess inpatients, admit new patients, review care plans, and communicate with relatives as part of a multidisciplinary team. GMC registration and 2+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with GMC registration is required.
• Minimum of 2 years post-GMC registration experience (CT1 or above).
• Strong communication and team-working abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Non-resident out-of-hours medical cover: one weekday night per week and approx. 5–6 weekends
• Face-to-face assessment and review of inpatients
• Admission of new patients and ongoing management of existing patients
• Communication with relatives and the wider multidisciplinary team
