Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Complementary Therapist to join the Nightingale Macmillan Unit, a 21-bed palliative care ward providing complex symptom management. You will deliver holistic therapies to patients, relatives and carers to promote relaxation and comfort.

You will work with the multidisciplinary team to tailor therapies such as aromatherapy, massage and reflexology, prioritise referrals and manage your own caseload while

Qualifications

• Recognised qualifications by the federation of holistic therapists.
• Experience delivering therapies to patients in healthcare settings.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complementary therapy interventions tailored to the individual needs of patients, families and carers.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy programmes within a professional framework.
• Work collaboratively with specialist nursing, medical and community colleagues to provide holistic care.
• Prioritise referrals and manage your own caseload effectively.
• Support patients and their loved ones through what can often be challenging and emotional circumstances.
• Help develop and promote complementary therapies as an integral part of palliative care services.
