Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Painting & Decorating Trainer in Wigan to inspire the next generation of tradespeople. The role blends practical workshop delivery with classroom-based training, using your industry experience to build confidence and employability.

You will deliver both practical and theory-based programmes, support learners toward apprenticeships, and work towards a recognised teaching qualification with full support.

Qualifications

• Experienced Painter & Decorator or related Construction professional.
• Current or recent industry experience.
• Willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
• Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Painting & Decorating training across practical and theory-based programmes.
• Demonstrate preparation, application, finishing and quality-checking techniques.
• Teach learners how to use tools, materials and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Develop learner knowledge of professional standards, customer expectations and industry practice.
• Plan engaging sessions that build both practical ability and technical understanding.
• Assess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, progress and achievement.
• Support learners towards further study, apprenticeships and employment.
• Promote high standards of health, safety and professional conduct.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme review and quality improvement.
• Support Open Evenings, recruitment activity and College events where required.
