Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Painter & Decorator to become a Training Tutor in a well-established FE provider. You will train learners in practical and theory-based Painting & Decorating, preparing them for apprenticeships or employment while progressing towards a recognized teaching qualification.

The role offers full teacher training, permanent 37 hours per week, and a competitive package including pension, generous leave, healthcare and benefits.

Qualifications

• Current or recent Painting & Decorating industry experience with a relevant vocational qualification.
• Teaching experience is desirable but not essential; support to gain a teaching qualification provided.
• Willingness to work toward a recognised teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Painting & Decorating training across practical and theory-based programmes.
• Demonstrate preparation, application, finishing and quality-checking techniques.
• Teach learners to use tools, materials and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Develop learner knowledge of professional standards, customer expectations and industry practice.
• Plan engaging sessions that build practical ability and technical understanding.
• Assess learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, progress and achievement.
• Support learners toward further study, apprenticeships and employment.
• Promote high standards of health, safety and professional conduct.
• Contribute to curriculum development, programme review and quality improvement.
• Support Open Evenings, recruitment activity and College events.
