Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Carpentry & Joinery Trainer to transform industry experience into classroom and workshop-based learning in Wigan.

You will deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery training, blending practical sessions with theory while assessing progress and guiding learners toward employment or further training. Support toward a recognised teaching qualification is provided.

Qualifications

• Experienced Carpenter/Joiner or Carpentry & Joinery professional.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willing to achieve during probation.
• Willingness to travel between sites when required.
• Teaching qualification desirable but not essential; full support to gain recognised teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Carpentry & Joinery training across Level 2 and Level 3 programmes.
• Deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
• Teach learners about materials, tools, techniques and industry practices.
• Plan engaging lessons developing practical, technical and employability skills.
• Assess learner work and progress per awarding body requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and support learner development.
• Monitor attendance and behaviour; maintain learner records.
• Act as Personal Tutor and assist with induction and progression planning.
• Support Open Evenings, school liaison and recruitment activities.
