Job summary

Colchester Institute on Colchester Campus is seeking a Technician Instructor to deliver practical painting and decorating demonstrations and provide technical support to learners. You will prepare materials, manage equipment, and maintain safe, well-equipped workshops to underpin high-quality learning.

In this role you will work closely with teaching staff to ensure practical sessions meet learners' needs, uphold health and safety standards, and contribute to college projects and outcomes that

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current health and safety requirements in painting and decorating.
• Experience maintaining and safely using painting & decorating equipment.
• Extensive industry experience in painting and decorating.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical skills demonstrations and provide instruction for student groups.
• Prepare materials and equipment for teaching staff and students.
• Maintain stock control of materials, consumables and equipment.
• Liaise with teaching staff to meet students' needs during practical sessions.
• Maintain workshops and tools to high standards and provide guidance.
• Contribute to college projects and ensure high standards of work.
