Job summary

Westfield Academy in Watford is seeking a proactive Art Technician to support teaching staff in the Creative Arts Faculty. You will prepare materials, operate AV equipment, and help with demonstrations and practicals.

You will maintain stores and equipment, support safety compliance, and assist in developing lesson resources and displays.

The role also involves invigilating, attending INSET sessions, and coordinating with teachers to adapt resources for GCSE and A-Level lessons.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school environment.
• Ability to support GCSE and A-Level lessons.
• Familiarity with safeguarding policies.
• Knowledge of the Thrive Approach.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical support for teaching staff in Art and the Creative Arts.
• Prepare materials to exact specification and clear away equipment.
• Assist staff with demonstration lessons and practicals.
• Maintain stocks, records, and manuals.
• Operate AV equipment and prepare teaching aids.
• Oversee art rooms, safety standards, and maintenance.
• Organise and display student work and exhibitions.
• Attend INSET sessions and safeguarding training.
• Photograph student work for portfolios.
