Job summary

Sopwell House in Hertfordshire is seeking a dedicated Painter & Decorator to join our Maintenance team. This full-time role is 40 hours with shifts typically from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and occasional evenings may be required to meet business needs.

You will paint and decorate to a high standard, follow health and safety guidelines, and support preventative maintenance while ensuring minimal guest disruption. A guest-focused, reliable, and detail-oriented professional is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience as painter & decorator, ideally in a hotel, commercial, or high-quality environment.
• Good knowledge of health & safety practices and safe working procedures.
• Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to work.
• Professional manner with guest-awareness and ability to minimise disruption.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all painting and decorating work is completed to a high standard, following health and safety guidelines.
• Work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, completing daily tasks from the defects logbook.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and keep log sheets up to date.
• Carry out repairs and project work as required.
• Take full responsibility for completing assigned jobs to a high standard.
• Liaise with relevant departments to coordinate works and minimise guest disruption.
• Report problems to your manager or senior management when needed.

currently looking for a passionate Painter & Decorator to join our
dedicated Maintenance team.

• Ensure
  all painting and decorating work is completed to a high standard,
  following all relevant health and safety guidelines
• Work
  under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, carrying out daily duties
