Job summary

Elite Hotels (Rotherwick) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Painter/Decorator for ongoing decorating work and general maintenance across the hotel and wider estate. The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach with a good level of physical fitness and a willingness to handle small plumbing tasks when needed.

You will support the Head of Maintenance, work within safety guidelines, and help keep to the maintenance schedule while delivering quality workmanship and guest-focused service.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating within a hotel or similar setting.
• Proven ability to perform general maintenance tasks beyond decorating.
• Experience with small plumbing tasks and installing sanitaryware is desirable.
• Strong time management and ability to multitask across tasks.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to work with guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• To assist the Head of Maintenance/Deputy Head of Maintenance to keep up with the maintenance schedule and tasks.
• To be hands-on with maintenance tasks and respond to requests across the hotel and wider estate.
• To operate within Health & Safety guidelines at all times.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a skilled Maintenance Painter/Decorator whose key focus will be on decorating work but the role may also include general maintenance, small plumbing, service and repair work across all areas of the Hotel. The role is varied and due to the size and nature of the hotel will require someone with a good level of physical fitness.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ably assist and support the Head of Maintenance/Deputy Head of Maintenance in order to keep up with the maintenance schedule and other tasks required of the department
• To have a hands on approach to all maintenance duties and requests in the Hotel and wider estate with a positive attitude to guests and colleagues
• To operate within Health & Safety guidelines at all times

Maintenance Assistant Key Attributes

• Experience of hanging large format, heavy commercial grade wallpaper and wall coverings
• Experience of small plumbing, pipework and installation of sanitaryware
• Experienced in a range of trade skills and general maintenance, including painting, decorating and renovation work
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
• Have a logical approach to tasks and take pride in workmanship
• Able to multitask and work to agreed timescales with the flexibility to accept occasional changes in priorities
• Personable and able to work as part of a small dedicated team
• Naturally customer focused – working with both internal and external customers
