Job summary

Grantley Hall Group Limited in North Yorkshire is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to maintain high standards across Grantley Hall and Grantley Arms. The role involves surface preparation, finishing and wallpapering, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous painting and decorating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, painting techniques and finishes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and time management.
• Health and safety awareness and relevant qualifications advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes and cracks.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment where appropriate.
• Hang wallpaper and other wall coverings as required.
• Carry out minor repairs to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces before decorating.
• Select and mix paints and materials to achieve the required colours and finishes.
• Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, and fittings during work.
• Ensure all work is completed to a professional standard and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organised condition.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including the safe use of ladders, access equipment, and decorating materials.
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management regarding progress and any issues.
• Minimise waste and ensure materials are used efficiently.

Carry out high-quality painting and decorating work across Grantley Hall , Grantley Arms ensuring all surfaces are properly prepared, finished to a high standard, and completed safely and efficiently.

• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Relevant trade qualifications or an apprenticeship would be advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence may be required, depending on the role.

Working Conditions

The role may involve working indoors and outdoors at different properties and commercial premises. The work may require standing for extended periods, lifting materials, working at height, and using ladders or access equipment.
