Job summary

Grantley Hall Group Limited is seeking a Head Bartender to lead the bar team at Grantley Hall in Norton-on-Derwent. You will manage shifts, craft signature cocktails, ensure exceptional guest service, and uphold wine, cocktail, and spirit knowledge with a focus on quality and compliance.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior staff, controlling stock, and driving sales while maintaining high service standards across the bar operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in high-end hospitality bar operations.
• Ability to lead a team and manage shifts to deliver impeccable service.
• Strong knowledge of wines, cocktails and spirits, with flair for new drinks ideas.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
• Manage and direct all bar staff during shifts.
• Ensure guests receive impeccable service and high-quality beverages.
• Lead creation and execution of new cocktails.
• Monitor beverage quality and stock levels; manage ordering and stock takes.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff; maintain training standards.
• Ensure compliance with H&S, Allergies, Hygiene requirements.
• Meet sales, profitability and payroll targets.

Salary: £41,200 annual salary, plus monthly service charge, typically £3,400 annually

Key Responsibilities

• Providing a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times
• Manage and provide direction to all bar employees during shifts
• Ensure each guest receives impeccable service
• Lead the creation and implementation of new cocktails
• Ensuring consistent, high quality beverages are served to the guests
• Delegating tasks and checking their execution
• Possessing a depth beverage knowledge such as wines, cocktails and spirits
• Monitoring inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock
• Meeting sales, profitability and payroll targets
• Undertake monthly stock takes and oversee the ordering of stock
• Fully manage the recruiting training
• Dealing with guests’ feedback and providing solutions to complaints
• Responsible for H&S, FSA requirements, Allergy Laws and Hygiene ratings
