Job summary

Amey Ltd is seeking an on-site Painter & Decorator for HMYOI Swinfen Hall, England. You will perform planned and reactive painting across prison facilities, maintaining safety and compliance with company policies.

This role requires reliability and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks within a secure environment. The position offers a 39-hour week (Mon-Thu 07.45-16.45 with 1 hour lunch; Fri 07.15-15.45 with 1 hour lunch) with a base salary of £28,792–£33,532 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 2/3 in Painting & Decorating preferred.
  • Previous relevant work experience in painting or decorating.
  • Good understanding of health & safety, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Comfortable working alongside prisoners.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive paint work across the prison.
  • Care for tools, materials and company property.
  • Comply with Health & Safety policies and directives.
  • Support zero-carbon programmes where appropriate.
  • Ensure health & safety standards are met across the contract.

Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Painter & Decorator in HMYOI Swinfen Hall.

The standard hours of work are 39-hours per week, Monday toThursday 07.45-16.45 (1 hour lunch) and Friday 07.15-15.45 (1 hour lunch)

The base salary is between £28,792 - £33,532 dependant on experience.

By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

The Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

What you will do
  • Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
  • Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
  • Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
  • Thisrole will also support both local and businesszero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in astrategicand lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
What you will bring
  • Qualified to NVQ 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating is desirable.
  • Previous relevant work-related experience.
  • Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
