Job summary

Hartford Care is seeking a skilled painter/decorator to service care homes in and around the M3 & M4 corridor. The role involves painting, maintenance tasks, and travel between sites, with a provided van and mileage reimbursement.

You will need a full clean driving licence and the ability to work at height, while adhering to Health & Safety regulations. Prior care setting experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Robust painting and decorating experience with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Employment Type:

Full-time, 40 hours

This role includes travel to various care homes in and around the M3 & M4 corridor, so a driving licence is essential. A van will be provided for this role.

What You'll Do:

• Carry out all painting and decorating tasks, including preparation, repair, and finishing of internal and external areas.
• Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and minimise disruption to residents and staff.
• Support general maintenance tasks (e.g. basic plumbing, tiling, minor repairs).
• Travel between homes as required to support the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Essential

What We're Looking For:

• Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining a high degree of skill and professionalism
• Ability to work at height
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
• Full and clean driving licence

Desirable

• Painting and Decorating Qualification
• Previous experience within a care setting
• Knowledge of working with people who live with dementia
• Previous experience of carrying out general maintenance tasks
• Good IT skills and knowledge including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment
