Job summary

Niyaa People are currently seeking an experienced Painter to join a social housing maintenance contractor on a subcontract basis. You will carry out internal and external painting in occupied and void properties across Daventry, Northampton area, and surrounding patches, with a full UK driving licence and tools expected.

You will prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and complete decorating works within planned maintenance, void refurbishments and responsive repairs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Painter within social housing, domestic property maintenance or refurbishment.
  • Excellent surface preparation and finishing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in both occupied and void residential properties.
  • The ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the regional patch.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out internal and external painting works within occupied and void social housing properties.
  • Preparing surfaces by filling, sanding, repairing minor defects and stripping wallpaper where required.
  • Applying emulsion, gloss, satinwood, primers and specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, woodwork and exterior surfaces.
  • Completing decorating works as part of planned maintenance programmes, void refurbishments and responsive repairs.
  • Travelling between properties across Leicestershire and the surrounding areas.
  • Delivering high-quality workmanship while providing excellent customer service and respecting tenants' homes.
  • Submitting accurate weekly electronic timesheets for approval.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Painter to work on social housing maintenance contracts covering Daventry and the surrounding areas for a well-established property maintenance contractor. This opportunity is with an established contractor delivering planned maintenance, responsive repairs and void property refurbishment works across the social housing sector. We're looking for an experienced Painter who is available to start as soon as possible on an ongoing subcontract basis. I'd be keen to speak to anyone with experience working within social housing, domestic repairs, property maintenance or refurbishment, whether you've previously worked as a Painter, Painter & Decorator, Property Maintenance Operative or in a similar role.

As a Painter, you will be:
  • Carrying out internal and external painting works within occupied and void social housing properties
