Auto Skills UK in Brackley is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled ATA Painter / Prepper to join a modern accident repair environment. You will prepare and refinish accident-damaged vehicles to a high standard, using strong prep and paint techniques.

ATA qualification in Paint/Refinishing is essential. The role offers a salary up to £50,000, a Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00 pattern, no weekend work, and clear opportunities for training, progression, and professional development.

Qualifications

• ATA qualification in Paint/Refinishing is essential or highly desirable.
• Experience as Paint/Sprayer or Painter/Prepper in an auto bodyshop.
• Strong knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accident-damaged vehicles for paint, including sanding and masking.
• Carry out professional spray painting and refinishing to a high standard.
• Colour matching, blending, polishing and finishing to factory quality.
• Perform both prep and paint duties across a range of repairs.
• Inspect work and rectify imperfections to ensure quality.
• Coordinate with panel techs, estimators and workshop controllers.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of paint areas and equipment.

THE ROLE

As an Experienced Multi-Skilled ATA Painter / Prepper, you will be responsible for preparing and refinishing accident-damaged vehicles to a consistently high standard. Combining strong preparation skills with professional paint application and finishing techniques, you'll play an important role in ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned with a high-quality finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accident-damaged vehicles for paint, including sanding, masking, priming and panel preparation
• Carry out professional paint spraying, refinishing and repair work to a high standard
• Complete colour matching, blending, polishing and finishing to achieve factory-quality results
• Carry out both preparation and paint duties efficiently across a range of vehicle repairs
• Inspect completed work and rectify any imperfections to ensure excellent repair quality
• Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians, VDA/Estimators and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
• Maintain paint equipment, spray areas and workstations in a clean, safe and professional condition
• Follow manufacturer repair methods, bodyshop quality standards and Health & Safety procedures

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced, ATA-qualified and multi-skilled Painter / Prepper who takes pride in their workmanship and can confidently work across both preparation and paint disciplines.

• ATA qualification in Paint/Refinishing is essential or highly desirable
• Proven experience as a Paint Sprayer, Paint Technician, Painter / Prepper or Paint Refinisher within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong knowledge of modern automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques
• Excellent preparation skills, including sanding, masking, priming and panel preparation
• Strong colour matching, blending, polishing and finishing abilities
• Ability to carry out both preparation and paint spraying duties to a consistently high standard
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing first-class finishes
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy accident repair production environment
• Strong understanding of repair quality and manufacturer repair methods
• Reliable, professional and motivated approach to work
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
