Job summary

The Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking an Appropriate or Responsible Adult to support young people or vulnerable adults during legal processes, ensuring their rights and welfare are protected. The role emphasizes safeguarding, mentoring, and clear communication with professionals.

Responsibilities

• Carry out appropriate adult call-outs to venues as required.
• Support and assist a child or vulnerable adult through custody process or meetings.
• Ensure rights understood during police interviews, age assessments, meetings, etc.
• Ensure health, well-being, legal rights, access to solicitor and entitlements observed.
• Assist with communication between the vulnerable adult/child and professionals.
• Consult custody records to clarify concerns raised by the individual or professionals.
• Complete appropriate adult report form and return to duty officer within 24 hours.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and prevent disclosure to third parties.
• Attend training, support, and 1-1 sessions as required.
• Safeguard and promote welfare of the vulnerable individual.
• Treat all individuals fairly and do not discriminate on any grounds.
• Report to manager if there is any concern.
