Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an acting Senior Sister/Ward Manager to lead the paediatric ward, coordinate care delivery and support the professional development of staff and student nurses. The role emphasizes high-quality, evidence-based paediatric care and an inclusive learning environment across services.

The post requires a registered paediatric nurse with 12 months’ post-registration experience at Band 6, along with teaching/mentorship

Qualifications

Registered paediatric nurse
Post registration experience, 12 months at Band 6 level
Educated to degree level in a health-related subject or willing to commence degree within 1 year of posting

Responsibilities

Oversee managerial responsibilities of the ward and ensure high-quality paediatric patient care
Support and develop ward staff and provide an excellent learning environment for student nurses
Collaborate with medical staff, nursing teams and education staff to deliver service improvements and flexible working where possible
