Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is looking for an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Nurse for Ward 8 at Royal Preston Hospital in Preston. The role combines clinical leadership with day-to-day ward management in a busy paediatric setting.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee staff appraisals, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care, including participation in training and service development.

Qualifications

• Evidence of leadership experience and learning.
• Awareness of recent advances within Nursing practice.
• Knowledge of Clinical Governance and safeguarding and the relevance to practice.
• Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
• Experience of implementing changes to benefit patients and improve nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day running of the paediatric ward Ward 8.
• Coordinate unit activities and liaise with ward manager.
• Manage staff appraisals and duty rosters.
• Ensure high standard of nursing care and patient safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including paediatric units.
