Job summary

DBTH in Doncaster is seeking an acting Senior Sister/Ward Manager to oversee the managerial responsibilities of the Children’s Ward and to drive high quality paediatric care and student education. This is an 18-month fixed term post with secondment opportunities and a rotational policy across sites to meet service needs.

The role requires current paediatric NMC registration, post-registration experience at Band 6 or equivalent, and evidence of leadership, governance, teaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Post registration experience and speciality experience.
• Senior sister (band 6) / Charge Nurse or equivalent management experience for at least 2 years.
• Involvement in clinical governance agenda.

Responsibilities

• Oversee managerial responsibilities of the Children’s Ward.
• Provide high quality paediatric patient care.
• Support and develop staff; provide learning environment for student nurses.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to meet service needs.
• Rotational policy across sites to support service development.
