Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting an Occupational Therapy graduate for a full-time, long-term role in a Year 2 class with high SEND needs at a welcoming primary school in Walker (NE6). You will help children develop independence, sensory regulation, and motor skills during the school day.

The position offers daily pay of £92.63–£102 and starts September 2026. You will work closely with teachers, SENCO, therapists and families to deliver personalised intervention programmes and support inclusive

Qualifications

• OT graduate with hands-on experience in paediatric settings.
• Familiar with SEND requirements in primary education.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive in supporting children's development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 2 pupils with SEND needs in class.
• Implement sensory regulation strategies and movement breaks.
• Assist with fine and gross motor skill development.
• Support personalised intervention programmes.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, therapists, and families.
• Encourage communication, independence and participation in lessons.
