A leading UK health service provider is seeking a Paediatric Nurse for their Emergency Department. To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for: protecting and supporting the health of individual patients and clients; assessment of care and health education needs; development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient. Under supervision, to gain experience and skills in clinical practice, facilitation and teaching, and management (as appropriate). To work in accordance with UCLH Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and Core Standards and contribute towards achieving the Trust's "Top 10" Objectives. To maintain effective communication and to provide a high standard of holistic patient-centred care. To take charge of the ward/department in the absence of senior nursing staff following performance review against the agreed KSF outline and progression through the first gateway.

The team is supported by Clinical Practice Facilitators and departmental play specialist, along with strong links with the Paediatric and Adolescent Division. We are looking for Paediatric nurses with experience of working within an Emergency Department or relevant acute clinical environment to join our expanding team who provide care to approximately 15,500 children and young people a year. You will need to have strong communication and leadership skills with an eagerness to advance in Emergency Nursing practice. This is a responsible role encouraging you to play an important part in strengthening our status as one London's leading Emergency Departments. You will be subject to an internal rotation shift pattern and be required to rotate within other areas of the department where children and young people are located. Working within a leading academic trust you can look forward to proactive managerial support for personal and professional development including opportunities for degree and masters pathways via Southbank or City University.
