Job summary

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Occupational Therapy Service, covering Hull and East Riding. You will manage a clinical caseload across homes, clinics and schools, delivering specialist care and providing supervision to staff and students.

You will lead on specialist practice, promote best service standards, and work with families and partner agencies to ensure holistic care across settings.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with the HCPC.
• Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use in practice.
• Evidence of practice educator SLIP training and experience of supervision of OT students.
• Competent IT skills to use corporate systems and Electronic Patient Record systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist clinical care to children and young people with complex physical needs.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of high standards of care and service delivery across the wider service.
• Support and mentor junior staff and students, providing clinical supervision and promoting best practice.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and innovation.
• Collaborate with families, colleagues, and partner agencies to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to care.
• Demonstrate and maintain up-to-date OT knowledge and skills.
