Job summary

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join the Experts at Hand team in Cheshire West and Chester. You will provide specialist advice, consultation and training to children and young people with complex needs, working across health, education and social care.

Qualifications

• Community work experience, preferably in education settings.
• MDT working across disciplines.
• Experience with SEND in children/youth.
• Post-graduate experience with paediatric OT.
• Understanding of sensory processing issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy consultation and advice for children with complex needs.
• Collaborate with schools and educational settings to identify strategies for participation and independence.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discussions about complex presentations.
• Support assessment, planning and implementation of OT recommendations in education/community settings.
• Contribute to training, workshops and learning opportunities for education staff, families and professionals.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across health, education and social care to achieve positive outcomes.
• Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to service development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to audits, quality improvement and governance.
