Job summary

Planet Pharma seeks a Clinical Research Nurse to lead pediatric trial activities. You will perform venepuncture and clinical assessments on children aged 10 and above, supporting dosing visits and blood sample collections across a flexible schedule.

The role requires an actively registered paediatric nurse with DBS/DBS update and BLS where possible, and the ability to travel within an hour of Oakham to attend unscheduled visits.

Qualifications

• Experience with physical assessments, port access, and infusion procedures in a paediatric setting.

Job description

As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will be integral to delivering cutting-edge pediatric clinical trials. You’ll perform venepuncture and clinical assessments on children aged 10 and above, supporting a study involving dosing visits and blood sample collections across a flexible schedule. Your expertise will ensure the safety and comfort of young participants and help advance important medical research. This role requires adaptability, clinical precision, and a genuine passion for improving health outcomes.

Required Skills

• Fully NMC Registered Nurse (RSCN/RCN) or equivalent
• Competency in Port Access and Infusion procedures
• Full LPA (Limb Port Access) competencies, capable of performing Symptom Directed Physical Assessments for Vasculitis signs
• Experience in vaccine or clinical trial settings preferred
• Valid enhanced DBS (preferably on the update service) and BLS certification
• Own a car, hold a valid driving license, and live within an hour of Oakham
• Flexibility to attend tandem visits and unscheduled assessment visits

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working with children with similar conditions
• Ability to perform both LPA procedures, with preference for proficiency in both
• Familiarity with pediatric study protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards

Preferred Education and Experience

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration in Paediatrics
• Recent, hands-on venepuncture experience within the last 6-12 months
• Experience with physical assessments, port access, and infusion procedures in a pediatric setting

• Availability to start immediately, with flexibility for scheduled and unscheduled visits October 2026
