Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting an experienced Registered Children's Nurse to join our Children’s Emergency Department and Children’s Assessment Unit, delivering compassionate, family‑centred care in a fast‑paced environment.

As a Band 5 Children’s Nurse you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised care with children, families and the wider multidisciplinary team, while safeguarding and promoting the child’s best interests.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register.
• Evidence of ongoing education, training and on-going learning.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
• Evidence of practice supervisor and practice assessor.
• PILS training.
• Evidence of an appropriate Specialist Qualification.
• Youth mental health first aid training or equivalent MH training.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, holistic and family-centred care to children and young people.
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised care with children, families and the MDT.
• Advocate for every child and ensure safeguarding is embedded in practice.
• Promote play, education and distraction to support children’s well-being.
• Respect cultural and religious needs and ensure a welcoming care environment.
