Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Emergency Department at the Royal Hospital for Children. This fast-paced role provides high-quality care to children and young people with a range of medical and surgical conditions, working within a multidisciplinary team across Triage, Minors, Majors and Resuscitation.

You will assess patient care needs, plan and evaluate programmes of care, administer medications and IV therapies, support patients and families,

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Child Branch) or Registered Sick Children's Nurse (RSCN).
• Current NMC registration.
• Experience in an acute paediatric setting would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
• Provide nursing care across Emergency Department areas including administration of medications and IV therapies.
• Support patients and families, participate in multidisciplinary decision-making and quality improvement.
