Qualifications

• Paediatric staff nurse with an emphasis on emergency care.
• Newly qualified nurses graduating in September 2026 are encouraged.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced ED environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
• Provide regular progress reports to NIC.
• Administer prescribed and controlled drugs in line with policy.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure patient safety.
• Support students and NQNs to meet learning objectives.
• Act as a role model and ED resource for child protection issues.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report defects.
• Report untoward events and complete incident reports.
• Stay up to date with statutory and mandatory training.
• Assist in achieving departmental performance indicators.
• Take on additional duties as requested by the manager.
