Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Band 6 Clinical Practice Educator for Paediatric Critical Care. The role blends hands-on clinical work with education and workforce development to shape future paediatric critical care nursing while maintaining high-quality patient care.

You will support learners at all stages of development, deliver specialist education, and collaborate across the PCCU Education Team, while maintaining clinical practice in a busy Level 2/3 unit.

Qualifications

• Post-registration experience in Paediatric Critical Care
• Teaching and supporting staff development in critical care
• Ability to lead and motivate colleagues
• Experience with audits, research or quality improvement
• Commitment to family-centred, evidence-based care

Responsibilities

• Educate and develop staff across PCCU, in collaboration with the Education Team
• Identify learning needs and develop resources and programmes
• Deliver and support paediatric critical care education programmes
• Promote evidence-based practice and patient safety initiatives
• Provide clinical leadership during shifts and support the nursing team
• Mentor colleagues and role model professional practice
• Contribute to training, evaluation and development plans across the service
