Job summary

Omega Resource Group in Nottingham is seeking a Production Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturer. The role combines hands-on maintenance with machine optimization on high-speed packaging lines, ensuring maximum equipment performance through fault finding and preventative maintenance.

You will work rotating shifts (3 Shift Pattern / 4 on 4 off) on site, carry out first-line repairs, conduct root cause analysis, and support continuous improvement, GMP, safety procedures and accurate

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification is essential.
• Strong mechanical maintenance background in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience fault finding on automated production, packaging or process equipment.
• Knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, pumps and pneumatics.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance and breakdown response.
• Ex-forces engineers encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-speed automated packing and production lines.
• Carry out first-line mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement first-fix solutions where possible.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain bearings, motors, belts, chains and gearboxes.
• Support conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systems maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and conduct root cause investigations.
• Work with production teams to meet output targets.
• Support continuous improvement, OEE and waste reduction.
• Ensure GMP, LOTO and site safety procedures are followed.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation.
• Drive reliability and operational effectiveness across lines.
