Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment is helping a large independent food manufacturer recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance / Packaging Engineer. The role offers a Monday–Friday pattern with two overlapping day shifts (6am–2pm and 1pm–9pm), no nights or weekends, and a strong work‑life balance.

The position is based in the South Nottingham / North Leicestershire area, with a stable, growing business investing in site equipment and people. Benefits include a £40,000 base plus overtime and bonus schemes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Maintenance Engineer – C&G, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC or equivalent.
• Multi-skilled mechanical and electrical experience, electrically biased.
• Apprenticeship trained preferred.
• Proactive fault-finding and problem solving.
• Confident working independently when required.
• Food manufacturing experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and packaging equipment to maximise uptime.
• Complete planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Monitor equipment performance and take corrective action.
• Respond effectively to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Support engineering projects, installations and equipment modifications.
• Work closely with production to maintain safe and efficient operations.

A large independent food manufacturer is looking for an experienced

to join their growing engineering team. This is a genuinely great opportunity to join a profitable, stable and growing business that continues to invest heavily in its site, equipment and people.

Monday to Friday – No Nights & No Weekends. The of role operates on a straightforward double-day shift pattern:

• Week 1: Monday–Friday, 6am–2pm
• Week 2: Monday–Friday, 1pm–9pm
