Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Package Manager to oversee the delivery of complex headhouse construction packages for a major UK infrastructure programme. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and drive the package from planning through to handover, ensuring compliance with programme, budget and design requirements.

You will manage risk, monitor progress, enforce health and safety, quality and environmental standards, and collaborate with designers,

Qualifications

• Requires proven construction package management experience across civils, structural steel, architectural works and fit-out.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, programme and design requirements while ensuring HSE and quality compliance.
• CSCS card and relevant training in health, safety and environmental management are expected.

Job description

An organisation delivering a major UK infrastructure programme is seeking an experienced Package Manager to oversee the delivery of complex headhouse construction packages. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with strong subcontract package management experience to take responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of multidisciplinary works.

The Role

You will lead the preparation and delivery of construction packages, managing site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and third parties. You will ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, contractual and design requirements while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental management and quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and third parties
• Leading the planning and preparation of construction works including methodology, programme, resources, procurement and pre start documentation
• Managing construction activities across civils, structural steel, architectural works and fit out
• Monitoring programme performance, productivity and budgets, taking corrective action where required
• Managing subcontractor performance and supporting the administration of subcontract accounts
• Ensuring resources are correctly specified and available to support the construction programme
• Reviewing and implementing inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements
• Maintaining accurate site records including diaries, variations and additional works
• Managing non-conformances and communicating issues with construction, quality, design and commercial teams
• Working closely with designers, engineers, quantity surveyors and project stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements

About You

You will have:

• Strong construction experience
• A relevant HNC, HND or Degree in Building, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing and best practice
• Experience managing construction contracts and subcontract packages
• Experience working within complex construction or infrastructure environments
• Strong practical and engineering judgement
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across integrated project teams
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, document control systems and AutoCAD
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A relevant CSCS card
• Training in health, safety and environmental management
• Experience across civils, structural steel, architectural works, fit out, headhouse construction or urban realm works would be highly beneficial.
• This role would suit an experienced Sub Agent, Site Agent or Construction Manager looking to take responsibility for significant construction packages.
