Job summary

Global Search+Select is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a major London project. You will own site delivery, coordinate multiple work packages and lead contractors to achieve safety, programme and quality targets.

The role requires a strong civils and infrastructure background, 10+ years UK experience, and a proven ability to manage multiple contractors while maintaining rigorous CDM 2015 compliance. UK work rights essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' UK construction management experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior, site-based construction management position.
• Strong civils and infrastructure background.
• Experience managing multiple contractors and work packages.
• Strong knowledge of construction programmes, delivery and risk management.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
• Black CSCS Manager-level card.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day construction activities and overall site delivery.
• Take ownership of construction delivery across multiple work packages.
• Oversee Principal Contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Coordinate works across civils, earthworks, drainage, utilities, highways and external works.
• Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and programmes.
• Identify and resolve construction issues proactively to maintain project progress.
• Review construction programmes, milestones and project deliverables.
• Monitor progress against agreed programme and identify potential delays or areas of concern.
• Work closely with project and design teams to coordinate construction activities.
• Monitor project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Provide clear and accurate progress, programme and risk updates to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with design teams, project managers, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Liaise with statutory authorities and external organisations where required.
• Build effective working relationships across all levels of the project team.
• Provide strong leadership and direction across site-based activities.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with CDM 2015 requirements.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project procedures and relevant legislation.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved methodologies and quality standards.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of a major construction project in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong civils and infrastructure background to take ownership of site delivery, coordinate multiple work packages and lead contractors and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
