Overview

Job: Part-time support for two boys with autism. Approximately 4 hours per week, after school, on weekends, or during school holidays with flexible notice.

Responsibilities
  • Take the boys out into the community to activities they enjoy (e.g., trampoline park, soft play, eating out, the park).
  • Be caring, patient, and vigilant as the boys are unaware of dangers; be responsible and alert.
  • Support Henry (the quieter brother) with guidance as needed; assist Douglas (the more energetic) to burn off energy and have fun.
  • Encourage Henry with toileting when out as needed due to fear of hand driers in public toilets; both boys are verbal with limited conversation skills and may need support with communication.

  • Full driving licence with business insurance.
  • Knowledge of ASD and experience working with children with additional needs.
Hours and Pay
  • Hours per week: 4 hours – weekends and after school.
  • Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour employed / £15.60 per hour self-employed.
