Job summary

InPost UK is recruiting a Transport Team Manager to lead overnight transport operations at our Hatfield site. You’ll coordinate collections and deliveries, manage drivers (employed, subcontractors and agency), and work closely with the Sort Centre to maintain service continuity and efficiency.

Based in Hatfield, you’ll supervise a busy shift from 13:45 to 22:15, with Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday patterns.

Qualifications

Proven experience in transport operations.
Working knowledge of transport management systems.
Up-to-date knowledge of drivers’ hours and regulations.
Transport CPC – desirable.
Previous people management experience – desirable.

Responsibilities

Oversee all scheduled transport activity and ensure on-time performance.
Lead daily driver briefings and debriefings with drivers, subcontractors, and agencies.
Monitor driver performance using data and reporting tools.
Maintain KPI tracking and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure legal compliance and health and safety standards on site.
Manage absence and performance, escalating when necessary.
Coordinate with Sort Centre to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Act as deputy for the Shift Manager when required.
