Job summary

Alstom in Glasgow Depot is seeking an overnight, first-line reactive technical support engineer to address vehicle faults and keep trains available to the timetable. You will support production sites and provide guidance to uphold fleet safety and reliability.

Role covers outstation and in-service diagnostics, 24/7 support, and travel to outstations as needed. You’ll work with SAP GSI, TMS, and train management systems to document work and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained in an Engineering discipline.
• HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Rolling Stock is desirable.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams/schematics.
• Good interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line overnight reactive technical support for vehicle faults.
• Support production sites to maintain fleet availability in line with timetable.
• Offer technical guidance to uphold fleet safety and reliability.
