Job summary

Alstom in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Production Manager to support the Traincare Centre Manager, delivering the Maintenance Daily Plan, overseeing resource planning, overtime, and cost control to meet customer expectations.

You will lead Production Managers, ensure safe work, review plans, drive improvements, and contribute to cost-effective maintenance services across the traincare centre.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical or engineering qualifications or equivalent.
• Experience in a production, maintenance, or operational environment.
• Proven track record of managing maintenance schedules and resources efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work is performed in a safe, effective manner and in accordance with standards.
• Direct Production Managers to meet targets and budgets.
• Review plans to achieve daily production targets.
• Maintain good industrial relations and implement disciplinary procedures as needed.
• Identify areas for improvement from incident reports and customer feedback.
• Assist in manpower forecasts, budgets and cost control.
• Carry out safety, quality and general briefings as necessary.
• Plan and control leave entitlement for Production Managers to meet the Business Plan.
• Encourage staff development and ensure contractor compliance.
• Manage change to optimise working practices and productivity.
