ARCA Consulting is recruiting an experienced Overhead Linesman (LE1) to join its transmission and distribution team for UK-wide projects. The role involves supporting safe, efficient OHL construction and mentoring LE2 Operatives and Trainees.

You will work on 132kV-400kV schemes, adhere to RAMS and HSEQ, and travel with overnight stays as required. A UK driving licence is essential, with additional National Grid competencies preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant LE1 experience within transmission and distribution.
• Proven experience on 132kV-400kV overhead line projects.
• Strong RAMS knowledge and safe systems of work.
• National Grid competencies are desirable.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: National Grid Competent Person Authorisations, First Aid, Rescue from Height, CPCS, EUSR/CSCS and lifting or rigging experience.

Responsibilities

• Overhead line construction including foundations, tower erection and conductor stringing.
• Install conductors, earth wires, insulators and fittings.
• Maintain, refurbish and dismantle OHL assets.
• Work to RAMS, drawings, specs and HSEQ requirements.
• Support LE2 Operatives and Trainees.
• Maintain high safety, quality and productivity.
• Identify and report operational, safety and programme issues.

Location: Can be based anywhere in the UK with travel flexibility - UK Wide Projects

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + + Overtime + Bonus + Travel allowances + benefits

Shift Pattern: 10-hour shifts | Weekend on / Weekend off

Travel: Site-based with regular UK travel and overnight stays

ARCA Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK energy and infrastructure business for an experienced Overhead Linesman (LE1) to join its growing transmission and distribution team.

Our client delivers specialist engineering and operational services across the UK energy and utilities sector, including high-voltage networks, renewables and grid connection projects.

The Role

As an Overhead Linesman (LE1) you will support the safe and efficient delivery of overhead line construction projects, working alongside the OHL Foreman and providing technical guidance to LE2 Operatives and Trainees.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overhead line construction, including foundations, tower erection and conductor stringing.
