Job summary

The Resolute Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Manager – Overhead Lines to lead specialist technical work across Scottish electricity transmission projects. You will be based in Motherwell with occasional travel to site locations, guiding feasibility, design, construction and handover while upholding engineering governance and client standards.

This role requires substantial OHL experience, strong stakeholder management and the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in high-voltage overhead line engineering, technical assurance or engineering management.
• Experience supporting OHL projects through design and construction, with understanding of installation methods and site constraints.
• Knowledge of OHL components and interfaces between electrical, structural and civil engineering.
• Experience with governance, design review and technical approval processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence project teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal source of OHL technical expertise across allocated projects.
• Review and validate design proposals against client specifications, standards and construction constraints.
• Support feasibility studies, concept development, tender reviews and early contractor involvement.
• Provide technical oversight of interfaces between electrical design, towers, foundations and fittings.
• Identify design risks, resolve queries and coordinate specialist input with engineers and designers.
• Review installation proposals and construction methods to reflect the approved design.
• Visit sites to support delivery teams and check on-site implementation.
• Review design changes and departures from standards with proper approvals.
• Provide technical approvals within delegated authority and escalate as needed.
• Support supplier assessments, material selection and inspection plans.
• Contribute to commissioning readiness and technical handover records.
• Promote standardisation and share lessons across teams.
