Job summary

Red Snapper Recruitment Limited is recruiting two Outreach Workers for a specialist domestic abuse support service in Coventry. You will manage your own caseload, provide one-to-one support and advocacy, and collaborate with community and statutory services to help women access the support they need.

This role involves community work, developing partnerships, and improving access to domestic abuse services. Full-time, permanent contract with a 35-hour week and 9-5 pattern.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality casework, one-to-one support and advice to women who are or have experienced domestic abuse.
• Undertake regular risk and needs assessments and develop appropriate safety plans.
• Develop, implement and regularly review ISPs with service users.
• Provide practical, emotional and advocacy support.
• Identify individual needs and make appropriate referrals to specialist agencies and services.
• Support women to access statutory, voluntary and community services.
• Facilitate access to wider specialist services.
• Encourage development of positive mutual support networks.
• Provide group work and support sessions for victims and survivors.
• Develop appropriate communication methods to meet needs of individual service users.
• Identify and develop support strategies for women and children affected by abuse.
• Lead on referrals into the community team and develop support pathways.
• Build links with existing projects and statutory services.
• Develop partnership working and joint services where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to improve access to support within the community, including drop-ins and outreach surgeries.
• Support workshops, group work and training for professionals and communities.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and partnership working.
• Work alongside volunteers to enhance support.
• Promote awareness of domestic abuse and available services.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor service delivery.
• Produce regular reports and collect user feedback to improve the service.

We are looking for two dedicated Outreach Workers to join a specialist domestic abuse support service in Coventry.

This is an opportunity to provide high-quality, specialist and proactive support to women and children affected by domestic abuse. You will manage your own caseload, provide one-to-one support and advocacy, and work closely with community and statutory services to help women access the support they need.

The role will involve working within the community, developing relationships with partner organisations and helping to improve access to domestic abuse services.

Key Responsibilities

Support & Casework

• Provide high-quality casework, one-to-one support and advice to women who are or have experienced domestic abuse.
• Undertake regular risk and needs assessments and develop appropriate safety plans.

• Support workshops, group work and training for professionals, community groups and individuals to improve understanding of domestic abuse and identification of victims.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and partnership working.
• Work alongside volunteers and community champions to enhance support available to women and children.
• Promote awareness of domestic abuse and the support services available.

Administration & Monitoring

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all service users.
• Record casework and service user information using relevant systems.
• Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation procedures are followed.
• Produce regular reports and statistical information.
• Collect and use service user feedback to help evaluate and improve the service.
• Maintain appropriate health and safety records.
• Work within organisational administrative and financial procedures.

Communication & Partnership Working

• Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues and external agencies.
• Attend meetings, training and conferences relevant to the role.
• Work closely with internal teams to develop appropriate services for women and children.
• Share relevant information from external meetings and training with colleagues and management.
• Attend regular supervision and support sessions.
• Contribute to the organisation's annual review process.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse and who can provide a professional, empathetic and empowering service.

You will ideally have experience of working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse or within a related support, safeguarding, housing, social care or community setting.
