Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a SEN Outreach GCSE Tutor to support secondary students in Bromley, Year 7 through GCSE. The role delivers Maths and English tuition, with Science desirable, primarily during school hours and in learner homes or community settings.

You will tailor sessions for SEND profiles, plan personalised programmes, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and professionals to help learners re-engage with education and achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Maths and English to secondary students (Year 7–GCSE).
• Two years' experience supporting SEN/SEND learners.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Qualified Teaching Status or equivalent (QTS/PGCE).
• Ability to work independently in outreach settings.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, adaptable and empathetic with strong organisation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one outreach tuition to secondary learners (Year 7–GCSE).
• Teach Maths and English across the secondary age range.
• Assess learning needs and identify knowledge gaps.
• Plan and deliver structured, personalised learning programmes.
• Adapt teaching to SEND profiles and learning styles.
• Support EHCP targets and GCSE preparation.
• Build trusting relationships with learners and carers.
• Monitor progress and maintain records; provide updates to schools.
